Since 1986, the Danish Energy Agency has published its annual report “Oil and Gas Production in Denmark”. As in previous years, the report for 2008 describes exploration and development activities in the Danish area as well as production. A new feature of this year’s report is the description of alternative uses of the Danish subsoil, including the exploitation of geothermal energy and the potential for Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS). The report also contains a review of the health and safety aspects of oil and gas production activities, the environment and climate. In addition, the report contains an assessment of Danish oil and gas reserves and a chapter on the impact of hydrocarbon production on the Danish economy.
