The Danish government stated in its government platform from
January 2007 that Denmark should be a green and sustainable society
with a visionary climate and energy policy.
In
order to achieve this objective in the long term, a series of
interim targets have been set within Danish energy policy up to the
year 2025: The proportion of renewable energy must be doubled by
2025 and more efficient uses of energy must be pursued. In order to
achieve these objectives the Government has increased public
budgets for energy R&D&D. From 2005-06 to 2010 public funds
for energy R&D&D has been doubled to 1 bill. DKK
yearly.
Some of the instruments in meeting the objective are:
- Various funding schemes offering public grants to R&D&D
in new energy technologies. These schemes are briefly
presented.
- Development of public – private partnerships in a series of
technology areas. The partnerships are briefly presented and links
to the partnerships are available.
- Taking part of Danish companies and research institutions and
universities in international co-operation regarding energy
R&D&D.
