The Nordic Council of Ministers’ Energy and Transport Program is launching a new call for proposals for projects within Sustainable Freight Transportation.
Approximately 10 MNOK is to be distributed among successful project proposals. The deadline for proposals is September 15th 2011.
In this call Sustainable Freight Transportation is defined as covering a broad field of technologies within renewables and energy efficiency.
The overall objective of the Energy and Transport Program is to contribute to the achievement of the Nordic vision of becoming "the Green Valley of Europe". To create a sustainable transport sector not only personal transportation needs to be considered. Freight transportation is a significant part of the Nordic transport sector and has a great potential for further development.
The Energy and Transport program focuses on projects of common Nordic benefit and projects that can generate added value in the Nordic region. The proposed project team must consist of a consortium with participants from at least three Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden).
