As part of the strategy for adaptation to climate change, a portal for adaptation to climate change has been set up with easy access to information and knowledge about adaptation to climate change.
The Knowledge Centre for Adaptation to Climate Change has set up the portal at
www.klimatilpasning.dk to provide all Danes with access to up-to-date information about adaptation to climate change.
The portal
The adaptation to climate change portal provides information about climate change and adaptation to climate change within a number of sectors. The portal contains both general knowledge and knowledge specific for the relevant target groups: the public, municipalities and businesses.
The portal is to be updated and expanded regularly.
Examples of adaptation to climate change
Knowledge and experience about adaptation to climate change is not developed in just one place, but by all the parties involved. Therefore it is important to collaborate and share knowledge. The portal for adaptation to climate change is a central platform for this knowledge-sharing, with relevant experience in the form of cases.
The various cases provide examples of how municipalities, the public and enterprises have implemented initiatives to adapt to climate change.
Climate data on maps
The portal contains maps showing climate data from the UN climate panel. This map section in the portal is still under development.
Users can choose whether they want to look at groundwater, precipitation, temperature or wind. They can also choose which part of Denmark they want to look at, and which climate scenario they would like to base their search on. Exactly what the climate will come to look like is still unknown, but scenarios describe various possibilities for the next 100 years.
The map section will be furnished with more data and functions so that, with the other knowledge, tools and cases on the portal, it will provide a good basis for decisions on adaptation to climate change.
