Cooperation Through Funds

Besides the State’s own JI and CDM projects, the State also develops indirect credits through carbon funds.

DCF and the World Bank
The Danish Carbon Fund (DCF) is administered by the World Bank, one of the world’s most important actors in relation to identification and development of JI and CDM projects. All the World Bank projects must comply with the Bank’s policies on encouraging sustainable development in relation to environmental, economic and social concerns, and include projects on renewable energy, energy efficiency, industrial gases and landfill gas.

Through the DCF, Denmark is also a part of the Community Development Carbon Fund, which specifically focuses on the least developed countries and on improvements for the local community.

NEFCO and NEFCO TGF
The Danish state collaborates with NEFCO Testing Ground Facility (NEFCO TGF) and NEFCO Carbon Fund. Both funds are administered by the Nordic environmental facility NEFCO and focus on sustainable projects within renewable energy and energy efficiency.  NEFCO Testing Ground Facility (NEFCO TGF) focuses on JI projects in the Baltic countries, Ukraine and Russia, whereas NEFCO Carbon Fund administers both JI and CDM projects.
