Climate and CO2

The EU member countries have devised a scheme for greenhouse gas emission allowance trading, effective from the start of 2005.

Part of the Energy Agreement of 21 February 2008 on Danish energy policy for 2008-11 is that DKK 10 mill. per year for 2008-09 and DKK 5 mill. per year for 2010-12 is to be appropriated for a test scheme for electric cars.

The Danish National Allocation Plan (NAP) is a central element in Denmark’s commitments to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions. A NAP is actually a meticulous description of the status of a country’s climate efforts.

Climate change leads to increasing temperatures, melting ice, rising water levels, greater precipitation, and greater risk of drought and other extremes.

Welcome to the Danish Energy Agency's JI and CDM page. Below you will find information about the Danish State's work with the mechanisms JI and CDM.

The rapid global climate changes are especially evident in the Arctic. The Danish Energy Agency is participating in climate change effects monitoring through international cooperation in the Arctic as well as administration of the Dancea funding programme
