EU ETS-scheme for installations

About 380 Danish installations are in the EU ETS scheme

The installations covers a significant part of the danish energy sector as well as energy-intensive industries. The following type of installations are in the scheme:

Electricity and heat units of a total rated themal input of 20 MW or more
Energy-producing facilities with a total rated thermal input of 20 MW or more, but not energy production from waste
Refineries and coke plants
Companies over a certain size within production and processing of ferrous metals
Cement, glass and tile companies over a certain size
Paper and cardboard companies over a certain size

The exact description of installations covered by the emissions trading scheme is stated in the Danish CO2 Allowances Act (section 5-8).
