In line with the current conditions for stationary installations in the EU ETS, it is required of the aircraft operators to have their emission and t/km reports verified by an independent and accredited verifier.
Verifiers have to be accredited by DANAK or another national accreditation body, which is a signatory to the multilateral aggreement of the European co-operation organisation for accreditation bodies, EA, for the relevant field on mutual acceptance.
In order to perform verification of ETS aviation data from the operators, who have Denmark as their administrative member state, the verifier has to apply for recognition by The Danish Energy Agency in accordance with section 3 of the Executive Order on Verification and Reporting (Executive Order no 40 of 20 JAN 2011).

Conditions for recognition
To be recognised as a verifier for aviation activities in Denmark the verifier must be accredited by a national accreditation body that has signed EA’s multilateral agreement and has obtained this accreditation according to either ISO 14065 or EN 45011. The accreditation has to comply with the EA 6/03 - EA Document for Recognition of verifiers under the EU ETS Directive. Also it is a possibility to be recognised based on DANAKs Accreditation provision AB 16 - Use of DS/EN 45011:1998 in accreditation for CO2-verification. The Accreditation provision AB 16 for aviation is very close to the European guideline EA 6/03.
Accredited verifiers shall submit an application
Verifiers who wish to verify data for operators who have DK as their adminsitrative member state shall submit an application for recognition to the Danish Energy Agency. The application shall include documentation for accreditation and identification information on the accredited enterprise.
