Energy Labelling Denmark

The field of work of the Energy Labelling Denmark involves energy labelling of household appliances, light sources and air conditioning systems for household use etc.

Control
Energy Labelling Denmark is responsible for administration of sample checks of products, including

• selection of the products to be checked
• retrieval and review of technical documentation from manufacturers
• follow-up of test results with manufacturers and suppliers.


Energy Labelling Denmark is also responsible for checking that

• energy labelling is used and is correctly placed on products in shops
• packaging (of light sources) and other product information is correctly designed.

Energy Labelling Denmark is also responsible for supervision of CE marking on freezers, and refrigerators with and without freezer boxes and chillers with regard to common European standards for energy efficiency. The standards mean that appliances which use more than a certain amount of energy may not be sold in Europe.


Information

Energy Labelling Denmark maintains this part of the Danish Energy Agency’s website, and it publishes a magazine entitled “Mærk & Spar” (“label and save”) on energy labelling for retailers and suppliers of white goods, as well as various leaflets.
