Energy labelling and Eco-design of appliances and products

Energy labelling and eco-design requirements are introduced in order to reduce the energy consumption of appliances and products.

Energy labelling of products and appliances provides consumers with information about the energy consumption. This will help the consumer to choose an appliance with low consumption, which is cheap to operate.

The eco-design requirements are setting standards for minimum energy efficiency. The new standards remove the least energy-efficient appliances and products from the market.
