Socio-economic assumptions

The assumptions concerning calculation of the socio-economic analyses include assumptions about fuel prices and emission factors. Furthermore, there can be found calorific values and estimated costs for certain discharges into the air.

Socio-economic prices
World market prices of fuels - particularly oil - has great significance for both the consumption of energy in Denmark, and the value of Denmark's net export of energy. Danish Energy Agency is trying to assess future fuel prices for use in the scenarios and economic analyses. It must be emphasized that such assessments are associated with very large uncertainty since fuel prices partly are determined by political factors, expectations of new forms of energy, the amount of remaining energy reserves, etc.

On the danish site you can find the latest version of the assumptions used in the socio-economic analyses of energy. For earlier versions of the assumptions and earlier spreadsheets, see Arkiv (all files are in danish).

Prices of fossil fuels is based on the latest assessment by the International Energy Agency (IEA) in World Energy Outlook, November 2010.

For further reports, the new baseline projections and estimates are described more detailed in the files shown on the danish site.
