Pursuant to Executive Order No. 691 of 22 June 2006 on Rules of Procedure for the Emergency preparedness Committee in pursuance of the Offshore Safety Act, the Committee is to assist the authorities in the coordination of rescue activities and control measures in case of major accidents on an offshore installation or when there is an essential danger of this.
In addition, the Emergency preparedness Committee is to supervise the measures taken by the owner or user of the offshore installation in case of major accidents.
The Committee is composed of five members, who are appointed by the Minister.
