Technical Certification Scheme

Before you can erect your wind turbine, it must be approved under the technical certification scheme, which is managed by the Energy Agency’s Secretariat for the Danish Wind Turbine Certification Scheme.

The design, manufacture and erection of wind turbines, onshore as well as offshore, are covered by a technical certification scheme for wind turbines in Denmark. The certification scheme was established by the Energy Agency under the Ministry of Climate and Energy. The purpose of the scheme is to ensure that wind turbines and their foundations are designed, manufactured and erected in accordance with stipulated safety, energy and quality-related requirements. Smaller wind turbines are extended from the demand of technical certification.

The certification scheme is being managed by the Energy Agency’s Secretariat for the Danish Wind Turbine Certification Scheme, domiciled at the National Laboratory for Sustainable Energy, DTU Vindenergi.
